Are you thinking of booking a photo booth for your wedding?
Here are some important questions to ask your photo booth vendors before booking their services.
Is it a DSLR Camera or webcam?
There are many different types of photo booths available to hire but the internal components are very similar except for the computer and the camera. The type of computer used doesn’t matter as much because photo booth software doesn’t require too much processing power, the component that affects quality the most is the camera. A DSLR camera will take high-quality photos whereas a webcam can be a lower quality which is why this is an important question to ask before booking.
Will there be an attendant?
The photo booth is self-explanatory and doesn’t require an attendant to help you, instructions are written on the screen and is a basic one-touch function. The attendant is more for keeping the props and photo booth are organised and clean. If troubleshooting is required the attendant will also be there, most of the time it is just replacing the ink and photo paper. Due to COVID 19, an attendant is very important, we have our attendants cleaning the props and wiping down the touch screen after every use of the booth.
Do you use a strobe flash or continuous lighting?
Lighting in a photo booth is very important because we can not control the lighting in the function room so we use a flash to control the lighting. A strobe flash gets triggered and turns on just before the camera takes a photo whereas continuous lighting stays on the whole time. Strobe flash is a lot brighter when it gets triggered which will result in a more dynamic photo compared to continuous lighting which can produce duller photos. We recommend hiring a photo booth company that uses strobe flash for their light source.
Will there be an online album?
This is an important question because only you will see the photo booth photos that your guests have stuck into your guestbook whereas an online photo album you can share with your guests after the wedding. Some companies offer a copy on a USB at the end of the wedding but we’ve had instances where the bride and groom have lost the USB so this is why we recommend an online copy of your album.
Here at Special Snaps Photo Booth Hire we only use DSLR cameras and strobe flash lighting in our booths. We always have an attendant on-site to ensure that you and your guests are well looked after in the photo booth. We will also email you a link to your online album to share with your friends and family.
